  • Florida dermatologist Mary Trinh Pentel '86 is named the 2009 MHS Alumna of the Year. She is the first female graduate to earn this honor.
  • An unprecedented 176 pieces of original art works from students in grades K-12 are entered in the Eighth Annual MHS Juried Student Art Show. Ten submissions receive Purchase Awards and will become part of the School's permanent art collection. Guest juror is Brian Rogers, deputy director of the Pa. Council on the Arts.
  • The MHS community pays tribute to those who have died while serving in the military at the annual Memorial Day assembly on May 22. Featured speaker is Army Spec. Bryan Camacho '02, who was paralyzed during his third tour of Iraq in December 2007. After the assembly, the Class of 2009 pays tribute to Milton S. and Catherine Hershey at the Hershey Cemetery.
