The Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission unveils an historical marker at 935 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, which was the location of Milton S. Hershey's first business venture. Representatives from The Hershey Company, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, The Hershey Foundation, The Hershey Story, Hershey Community Archives, Pennsylvania Free Library, and MHS attend the event.

More than 80 MHS students contract the flu, forcing a change in Commencement activities on June 14. Teachers, administrators, houseparents, siblings, and friends from the MHS community are asked not to come to the ceremony to help stem the spread of the virus across the MHS campus. MHS President Johnny O'Brien '61, who retires on July 31, presents the commencement address. Valedictorian of the class is Jesse Rabbits and Salutatorian is Joshua Chaplin.
